Dolomite Enterprises Answers The Call To Recycle!

Dolomite Enterprises, one of Las Vegas's First Managed Service Providers, Joined the National Rechargeable Battery and Cell Phone Recycling Program.
With its eye on the environment, Dolomite Enterprises has joined a national program called Call2Recycle™ to conveniently recycle their used rechargeable batteries and old cell phones.
Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd), Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH), Lithium Ion (Li-ion), and Small Sealed Lead* (Pb) rechargeable batteries are commonly found in many portable electronics used in businesses such as cellular phones, laptop computers, two-way radios, bar code readers, and portable printers. Rechargeable batteries are also found in household electronics such as cordless telephones, cordless power tools and camcorders. When the battery is no longer rechargeable, Dolomite Enterprises can now recycle it.
Dolomite Enterprises and other businesses nationwide are working in cooperation with the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Cooperation (RBRC), a nonprofit public service organization that operates the Call2Recycle program. By participating in the RBRC Program, Dolomite Enterprises is helping to conserve the earth’s natural resources and to prevent rechargeable batteries and cell phones from entering the country’s landfills.
Some states have disposal bans for Ni-Cd and Pb batteries. These batteries are prohibited from being thrown in the trash and must be sent for recycling through manufacturer/distributor or other collection programs. Dolomite Enterprises has taken responsibility for the proper disposal of their used rechargeable batteries by their voluntary participation in the national RBRC program.
By 2005, roughly 200 million cell phones will be in use in the United States, and approximately 130 million phones will be retired each year. The average American cell phone user has a total of 3 or more cell phones in their possession.
“Business participation is a crucial part of our program because it puts us in touch with rechargeable power and cell phone users,” says Norm England, RBRC President. “Businesses such as Dolomite Enterprises are helping to make rechargeable battery and cell phone recycling a reality, and that’s great for the environment.”
The Call2Recycle program has various recycling plans that collect used rechargeable batteries and cell phones from retailers, communities, businesses, and public agencies. The program’s public education campaign features Richard Karn, “Al” from TV’s Home Improvement and host of Family Feud.
